Itinerary

Day 1- Lorestan

In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Tehran at 6:00 A.M and drive to Aligoudarz district to reach Absefid waterfall. We will have breakfast on the way. After a 5-hour drive, we will visit the stunning waterfall of Absefid (which means “white water” in Persian) with 70m height.

Then, we will continue the road through Ghalikouh Mountain to Baznavid (30-minute drive) and then stop by an ancient cemetery in which there are lion statues on the graves of courageous men.

There is a 15-minute drive after Baznavid and around 2:30 P.M we will reach the family of nomads that will host us for the night.

During the day, we will have our time to get acquainted with nomadic lifestyle and witness their daily routine of shepherding, collecting woods, baking bread, milking sheep & goats, and preparing fire for making bread.

Day 2 – Posht e koh

Enjoy the morning in beautiful green pastures shepherding the herd. Nomads usually wake up at 6:00 A.M to go shepherding. We can accompany them to the surrounding mountains or plains until 7 A.M.

We will have breakfast at 8 A.M. Afterwards, we leave the nomadic village and continue our way through Poshtkuh protected area. We will see dense forests of oak tree.

On our way, we will stop by some off the beaten track villages like Chin where some Bakhtiyari nomads have settled down. Visiting the settled nomads in old, simple village houses in a remote mountain area would be such a new experience for those who are used to living in cities.

Our next destination is Khouyeh village where we are going to have lunch in a typical village house with a view of an imposing mountain. Khouyeh is an organic village with different fruit gardens; peach, tomato, apricot, eggplant, pepper and also wheat. All of them are produced with no chemical fertilizer. So, here is our chance to have healthy delicious food. The evening is yours to explore the village and see the watermill. While you are going through the village, you will see women spinning thread, weaving handicrafts, milking the livestock and men insulating the roofs with traditional methods and doing gardening.

The night we will be in a rural home-stay in the village where we are going to know more about their culture and way of life.

Day 3- Chelgard

This morning we have our chance to experience once-in-a-lifetime sunrise while we are standing on a balcony. Today, we will start the day’s hike from the village toward the picturesque village of Sar Aqa Seyed, which is a stepped Village. We will pass the irrigated farms then continue through the trail of nomad’s migration. We will also see the salt mines local people have been using for centuries. Now is not the migration time but we can see how they have made a road to facilitate their migration. To get a better idea about nomads, we recommend you to read this article: www.nomad.tours/know-more-about-nomads/

After lunch, we leave Sar Aqa Seyed to go to Isfahan through Koohrang road. On our way, we visit Koohrang Waterfall, the biggest spring in Iran and in the evening dinner in Shahrekord and drive back to Tehran around 8 P.M.
